Speculative Design

Speculative Design. Concept Development. Design Research.

What is nature?
Our senses act as a resonant witness to change. Nature to me was a mixture of these two opposing environments, the city, and my backyard.

The lamp's abstract forms highlighted the sound that I mapped and orchestrated into a symphonic timepiece.

Inspired by Frank Chimero The Shape of Design.pdf

Calming Kimono
Sensory receptors throughout the body touch the fabric, affecting a meditative state. The material curates content and romanticizes data flow in the threads.

A haptic feedback system, sensual to the touch, interfaces balance with the clouds of information. Japanese kimono robes influenced this idea. Worn by emperors and monks, they afford calmness and harmony with nature.

Inspired by Nicholas Carr The Shallows and Dunne & Raby Speculative Everything.
